Recommended architecture
WordPress owns editorial content and marketing. BookedNG owns current ticket choices, quantity limits, customer questions, coupons, fees, payment confirmation and ticket delivery.
- Publish and approve the event in BookedNG.
- Copy the public event URL from the published listing.
- Create an event page or card in WordPress with the event name, image, location and a short summary.
- Add a button labelled “View tickets and book securely”.
- Link the button to the BookedNG event URL.
- When a coupon campaign is needed, use the coupon booking link copied from the BookedNG organiser dashboard.
Block editor setup
- Add a Button block.
- Paste
https://bookedng.com/events/example-live-showas the link. - Optionally enable “Open in new tab”, but do not use an iframe.
- Add a note such as “Current ticket choices and final total are shown on BookedNG.”
- Preview the WordPress page on mobile and desktop.
Custom HTML block
<section aria-labelledby="example-event-title">
<h2 id="example-event-title">Example Live Show</h2>
<p>See the latest ticket choices, availability and policies on BookedNG.</p>
<a class="wp-element-button"
href="https://bookedng.com/events/example-live-show"
rel="noopener">
View tickets and book securely
</a>
</section>What not to do
- Do not copy BookedNG’s private API requests into a WordPress plugin or theme.
- Do not place Paystack keys, ticket access tokens, webhook secrets or customer records in WordPress.
- Do not promise an individual ticket type will remain available; ticket-type deep links are not supported.
- Do not embed the checkout in an iframe. Embedded checkout is not a supported integration.
- Do not scrape the BookedNG page or JSON responses for live inventory.
Keeping the page accurate
Use wording such as “Tickets from…” only when it is manually reviewed. If the date, venue or headline price changes, update WordPress. The BookedNG listing remains authoritative for availability and checkout.
